Drunkin Shad Super Fluke Style Soft Jerkbait

The 5" Drunkin Shad, our premium soft jerkbait, is the perfect "Fluke" style lure. At 5 inches, it's the ideal size to target both average 1-2 pound fish and trophy-sized catches. Whether skipped under docks, cast into overhanging cover, or presented to a group of shad-gorging, schooling fish, this bait excels.

When fished weightless, the Drunkin Shad mimics a dying shad, erratically darting and fluttering as it slowly sinks. We've formulated a medium-grade plastisol to give it the toughness required for skipping, hard-to-reach presentations, and surviving inside a fish's mouth. The twin tails also have enough suppleness to provide the tantalizing action that triggers bass to strike.

The optimal rigging for the Drunkin Shad is a weightless setup on an EWG, Texas-rigged hook, using a 7' medium-light spinning rod and 12lb braid mainline tied to an 8lb fluorocarbon leader. Cast or skip the bait into the cover, let it fall on semi-slack line, and give it 1-2 rod twitches before allowing it to sink again. Rinse and repeat this technique for maximum effectiveness.

For increased casting distance and a faster descent rate, you can also insert a small 3/32oz weight on the underside of the nose. The Drunkin Shad's versatility allows it to be rigged in a variety of ways, including the Dual Fluke/Donkey Rig, EWG Texas-rigged Damiki Rig, Chatterbait trailer, Underspin trailer, Spinnerbait trailer, Splitshot Carolina Rig, Ned Rig, Shroomz Head, and Neko Rig.

Durability is rated as medium, with each bait lasting 3-5 fish on average. The body shape starts at the nose, extends into the midsection that bellies down, and features a gap to insert a hook. The twin, forked straight tails complete the design.

Like all our baits, the Drunkin Shad is heavily scented with our Phat Juice, a craw/leech/shad combination. This scent profile causes fish to hold on longer, giving you more time to set the hook and increase your hookup ratio.
